I'm currently visiting my mom's family in Iowa right now- everything is so pretty and white! I love it. My family is off watching the Iowa vs. Mizzou bowl game, while I opted to stay home and babysit my cousins- football is not my thing. Anyway I came across this ingenious ysl mondrian inspired dress that is entirely made of .25 mm thick fashion grade latex.

I hope you all had a merry christmas and happy holidays! I had a great time with the fam and received some fantastic fashion related gifts(mostly books) that I'm super excited about that I'll post soon. So if you can tell I'm kind of going through a london/copenhagen street phase. Mixed with a little goth, hipster and rachel zoe. I'm kind of at a 60s/70s meets creepers moment. I want the extravagant glam of the 70s, cat eye of the 60s and the simplicity of well designed black(CDG anyone?) pieces. Bizarre but I'm loving it all! This is kind of a random movie to be watching over the holidays, but since I have so much free time now that its break I've taken to watching as many movies as possible. Thank god for movie channels! I think I liked GI Jane more than the average person for some reason. Its approach to feminism in the military and even DADT was really intriguing; its especially cool now that DADT has been repealed! The film was a constant comment on femininity/ masculinity that was done in a really nice manner. Basically I want to be as sassy(and ripped!) and ferocious as her. Need to go to the gym asap...

Is it just me or does she look even more stunning with a shaved head?

Reminds me of Chloe Sevigny in If Walls Could Talk, II i think? Gimme a super hot butch character anyday.

I think this girl may be my style soul mate. She loves vintage and the story that comes with buying used and also buys cheap shoes because she can't afford anything else. AKA ME. I'm kind of on a late 60s/ early 70s vibe thats borderline obsession, trying to get my hands on any movie or magazine from that period. I need a job.

Boys, I don't want to speak ill of your mother on Christmas, but she's nothing but a common street whore.

I feel like every time any break rolls around, I need it more than the last one. This semester was so stressful but now I feel so free and ready to finish high school. And for once I'm really looking forward to spending time with all the extended fam.

Here's some things I just really like at the moment.

Normally I hate dances, but I would be so psyched for prom if could find something like either one of these dresses, especially the gold one. I'm planning on scouring vintage/charity shops for the next few months for something flowery or sequiny maybe, who knows.

DIY much? I think my years of girl scout camping have seasoned me in the art of friendship-bracelet making, so must do this ASAP. I have a bunch of diys I want to attempt over break.

I WANT A NOSE RING SOOOO BAD. Too bad my school has a policy on facial piercings.....

I just think this is funny.

I scored seasons 1&2 of the rachel zoe project on sale at target for 12.99 ea plus some new lipstain today, so I'm a pretty happy camper. And I bought a clothes rack last week to fix my closet-overflow problem so now I'm on my way to having a semi-organized closet hoorah!
